Friday Night Lights returns tonight with another exciting episode which is certainly a happy news for all of you Friday Night Lights fanatics and for me to as I am one of this series big fans from the beginning.

A bit of information about the series is is that ABC Family acquired the shows syndication rights some time last year and the series did begin airing on the ABC Family network but only for a short time as it was pulled from air as of October 18, 2010, due to low ratings but, fortunately, NBC renewed the series and we have a pleasure to watch it still.

Friday Night Lights is produced by NBC Universal and first premiered on October 3, 2006, and broadcast its first two seasons on NBC. The following three seasons of the show were then first broadcast on DirecTV’s The 101 Network before being rebroadcast on NBC after the two networks partnered to keep the show on the air. NBC confirmed that the fifth season of the show would be its final season, slated to premiere on October 27, 2010. As of the end of the fourth season, Friday Night Lights had aired 63 episodes and 13 additional episodes were planned for the fifth season.

Friday Night Lights is an award winning American television serial drama adapted by Peter Berg, Brian Grazer and David Nevins from a book of the same title. The series describes events around the Dillon Panthers which is a high school football team based in fictional Dillon, Texas. The show uses a small-town backdrop to address many issues facing contemporary Middle America with a particular focus given to the team’s coach, Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and his family. In the fourth season Taylor took over at East Dillon High School, where he coached the Lions. During it’s broadcast, Friday Night Lights became a much adored TV series among the teenage viewers demographics and continues to do so.
